Each symbolic star (Shen Sha 神煞 — literally "spirits and killings") is located by a precise formula drawn from a fixed reference point in the chart: most often the Day Master stem, the day or year branch, or the month branch. The result is a classical, folk-rich layer that sits on top of the core Day-Master analysis — never a replacement for it. Where the pillars reveal structure and character, the Shen Sha add colour, timing flags, and fine-grained texture to what the chart already says.
